• Club donates two AED to ADM Schools.
Brad Baier, president of the Adel Kiwanis Club, presents two automated external defibrillators to ADM High School Principal Lee Griebel and ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe at the April 7 school board meeting. The units cost $3,300 and have been installed in the 8-9 and high school buildings.

• Club donates $6000 to ADM Activites Fund.
John Harada and the rest of the Adel Kiwanis Club present a $6,000 check to Doug Gee, ADM Schools Activities Director. The money was raised from two youth basketball tournaments the Kiwanis organized.

• Club Volunteers at ADM After Prom.
Mark Hantsbarger, with the Adel Kiwanis, teaches the finer points of Texas hold’em at the ADM After Prom Party April 18, 2009.

• Have your pie and eat it too.
Jodi Kuhse, Denise Walter and Dave Sullivan serve pie at the Adel After Hours event hosted by the Adel Kiwanis.

• Club donates $3,500 to the ADM Activities Dept.
The Adel Kiwanis group recently donated $3,000 to the ADM Activities Dept. The donation purchased a new scoreboard for the Adel Elementary School as well as new uniforms for the 7th and 8th grade girls and boys basketball teams. The money was raised through the Adel Kiwanis Girls and Boys Annual Basketball Tournament.

• Club wins award for lighted parade float
The Adel Kiwanis took home the “Best Use of Theme” award for their entry into the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce Lighted Parade. The Kiwanis used a 30 foot trailer covered in lights and three inflatable snowmen to portray this year’s theme of “Let it Snow”. Note: Both the Kiwanis and the Chamber are now regretting the use of that theme.

• Club donates $3,000 more dollars to the Adel Stage and Pavilion Fund
The Adel Kiwanis donated $3,000 to the now-under-construction Adel Stage and Pavilion. This donation brings the total amount donated by the club to $5,000. The Stage and Pavilion will be located just South of the Raccoon Valley Bank and should be completed this year.
